The Process of Becoming a Champion

Growth Through the Game

Our mission is to develop confident, resilient athletes who love the game of volleyball — by blending elite training, character development, and a positive, competitive environment. Every athlete deserves more than just a spot on the court — they deserve a pathway to grow as a player and as a person. At FVC, we focus on nurturing both.

What Drives Us: Players First, Teams that Compete

We believe in the power of volleyball to shape lives. That’s why we pour our energy into two things: developing the individual and building competitive teams. When athletes grow in confidence, discipline, and purpose — that’s when true team success follows. Our passion lives in every practice, every player, and every breakthrough moment.

How Champions Are Built: One Rep at a Time

Champions aren’t created overnight — they’re built through repetition, effort, and belief. At FVC, we put the process before the product. We help families understand that this is a place to train with intention, not just play for a spot. Our coaching philosophy centers on growth — mentally, physically, and emotionally. When athletes commit to the journey, trust the training, and embrace the ups and downs, they rise — not just in volleyball, but in life.

What We Stand For: Character Through Competition

The Skills That Matter Most

At Fresno Volleyball Club, we believe volleyball is more than a sport — it’s a platform to build character, discipline, and confidence that lasts a lifetime. That’s why our training focuses on far more than physical ability.

  • We foster a genuine love and passion for the game, because joy fuels lasting motivation.
  • We use volleyball as a vehicle to teach life lessons — from perseverance to teamwork to accountability.
  • We instill discipline, strong technique, and self-motivation, encouraging players to take ownership of their own growth.
  • We build a work ethic that athletes carry into school, relationships, and future careers.
  • We promote a culture of positivity, respect, and kindness, both on and off the court.
  • And we help athletes understand that mistakes are part of progress — embracing failure as a step toward success.

At FVC, we train athletes to compete at a high level, but we measure success by who they become along the way.

Kimiah Johnson
Assistant Director/Interim Treasurer

I am Assistant Director, Kimiah Johnson; and I’ve been a member of FVC since 2020. Beginning my journey as a young coach, fresh off the collegiate court. I Immediately loved how impactful volleyball could be from the strategic and fundamental side. Over the years I’ve committed to helping grow and develop this organization with the same fire I instill in my athletes. Increasing my involvement with the board and helping develop new coaches as well. With Fresno Volleyball Club I aim to bridge the gap in access to such a wonderful sport; and along the way shape a greater youth, and an even better tomorrow.

Peyton Midori
Social Media Director

In her first year as Social Media Director, Peyton’s goal is to create fun, interactive content that captures the heart of FVC. Having been part of the FVC family since her early teens as a player, she has continued her involvement beyond highschool through coaching with FVC and at Bullard High School.

Sasha Sanders
Fundraising Chair

Hi, I’m Sasha Sanders, and my daughter plays for 14 Valley. I serve on the Board because I really love supporting the girls and being part of something positive in our community. I know how much sports can build confidence, teamwork, and leadership, and I just want to help create a great experience for all the players and families. Something fun about me is I love baking and making sourdough bread from scratch.
